Kolding at winter time

Winter scene from Kolding I promised I would try and make up for the missing photos during the weekend. Here is a photo of Slotssøen in Kolding. People are having a good time on the ice ice skating, playing hockey and just fooling around really enjoying it since it is so rare that we have frozen lakes in Denmark. Koldinghus makes up the background of the image.

The light on the photo is nothing special, and that usually makes a bit of a dull image, but I tried to increase the contrast as much as I could to get the people and Koldinghus to stand out from the snow.

I re cropped it a couple of time, until I got the people into a more central position, so than in the beginning. That helped to move the focus towards them I think.  Light could be better, but all in all a decent photo telling a story.  And a scene I don’t shoot very often.

Wintery greetings

Architecture at night

The Great Belt Brigde at Night Im sorry I didn’t manage to get a photo uploaded last night. I got the opportunity of going home one day early from the course, so once I got home, uploading a picture wasn’t the first thing on my mind. I did managed to take a decent photo though.

So today I will post two images, one from yesterday and one from today. The have a common theme, so everything is aligned well.Koldinghus by night

The photo from last night is of the Great Belt Bridge. It is taken from the same location as the photos of the bridge last time. Only this time somewhat later, and with a 200mm zoom instead of a wide angle lens. The result is what you see on the left. I haven’t post processed the photo much except for a bit of rotation. The fog you see around the pylons were very visible and very stunning while being there.

So Now I have caught up, or at least that is what I tell myself. So for today’s image I have taken a night shot of Koldinghus, from across the small lake next to it. It is a stunning building towering over the lake, and espcially at night it looks amazing. It is taken at around normal view so that is 50mm equivalent.

Once again, sorry for not updating you last night, but I am making up for it now.
