First Portrait shoot - Line K Last night I went to a three hour course in portrait photography at Vefa Foto. It was a lot of fun to try portrait photography in a studio setup and I can only recommend that to photographers.

The course was build up with a bit of theory first, and then practical shooting where we got to try the theory out for our self.  There was two different studios with a bit of differing setup. One of them meant for closer shots than the other.  I think it was a decent course all in all. But (you knew that would come), it was too little time to really get the idea. The group of people in the course didn’t know each other, so at least I didn’t fully relax and had to be aware of people around me all the time.

I learned some basic things about lighting which is good, but I think the most important thing I brought home is that it is very important to talk to the model all the time. Something I would need to work immensely on. Since they, like most others, aren’t mind readers.

On the right is one of the better shots from that evening.
