A plant full of snow

It snowed! One of the days full of excuses again. I wasn’t home before it got dark, but I just  got the new and bright lens so that shouldn’t stop me!  Well to be honest I was lazy, but when I walked through the gate to by hotel, I saw a plant lidt by a lamp post, and realised I might be able to play a little more with light and shadows. So I did.

I am still impressed by the lens, it is extremly sharp and captures a lot of light. This shot is taken a few hours after it became dark, and only lit by a single light bulb.  It is all you get for today, a picture by me playing around with my new lens.

It is a pretty boring shot admitted, but it is what I could manage for a day with lots of work. I will try to get up early tomorrow and see if I can get a shot before I need to go to the course.

A plant

Square crop of a plant It is snowing outside today, and being cold, windy and gloomy. So I didn’t want to bring my camera outside while walking the dog. That being said I did actually find a few good possible shots, which I tried capturing with my phone. But I promised yesterday that I would only show pictures taken with my new 50mm lens, and so it must be.

I did my usual trick of being all hyped up about sharpness and colours of my new lens, and then I tried it again I got all disappointed. But now I am back at a reasonable level of excitement, and I still love the sharpness and colour rendering of the lens.

Today’s shot is of one of our plants taken from straight above to capture the concentric circles the leafs make., and cropped in a square to emphasize it. It is taken close to the minimum distance of the lens which I think is around 35cm.
