I was out walking the dog while it was fairly windy, so I got the chance to capture a few images of the stirred water. So much for the calm and hot spring.

Sunrise is just about the same time as I leave the house to go to work, so that gives some opportunities to get some good light when the sky is clear. Today I got a view of Lillebælt and a bit of the marina in Skærbæk. I wanted to create these silhouettes in foreground so I underexposed one stop and nothing else.

A boat at winter time

Just a short update from me today. I am still playing around with black and white, and I absolutely love how I can change the constrasts in the image and seeing how much it means. Today I have tried to pull out the boat and make it appear as the subject by making it darker.

Where is my muse?

I have been a day behind for the last couple of days, so I will take the chance to publish two images today, to catch up. The swans to the right are taken yesterday. So I have taken a photo per day, but the sofa caught me off guard last night and suddenly I was on the couch. I have had a streak of really good images if I have to say to my self, ranging from portraits to landscape photos. The last few days I haven’t been able to find some interesting scenes and the few I did find turn out dull when I captured them.
The swans were fun to watch and fun to shoot, but the photos turned out to be grey in grey, so I tried to convert it to a contrasty black and white. The image is not the best for it, but I got to play a lot with lightroom settings.
Today I went for a few shots on the beach with Oskar running around, but I couldn’t hold my camera steady enough for the apparently low light so they all went blurry. I got a shot of a boat which is kind of okay, but boring.
I have posted photos for the days but nothing great. If you see my muse, please send her home. I miss her

Skærbækværket

Today I took a shot at my work place, or at least part of what my company owns and operates. That I work right next to it is more of an random occurrence. But I think it looks beautiful when I can see the mirror image on the silent fjord on a nice sunny winter day.
I don’t want to go into the discussion of climate here, lets save it for a time and place.
Normally I don’t like a horizon in the middle and many people will agree with me that it looks boring. In this case though, I did it on purpose, since it gives me a symmetrical image with the mirroring effect in the water. So once in a while I think it can work.
Normally though, I would likely try to aim for the horizon at either one third or two thirds into the image to follow the rules of thirds.
It was fairly hazy so the image didn’t have much contrast, so I tried a few different options for post processing, this one I am fairly happy with.

Today was pretty grey and foggy, but I got an idea for capturing my friday subject the great belt brigde. This time I did it from the Funen side. A bit on the less colourful side unlike what I typically do.

Sunset at the Great Belt

Sorry for not uploading a picture yesterday, I did take it I just never got around to uploading it. So today you will get two posts. I promise!
I was crossing the great belt brigde last night and just happened to due it during sunset, it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss. So I stopped in a took a series of great landscape pictures. The light was absolutely gorgeous and just proves once again that light is everything.
I have chosen this one as today’s photo, there were several great ones and you can see those in the gallery. I have my photo editing software back, so this pictures has been edited a bit. I have rotated it and tweaked the colours a tad. Not much but a little.
I think the picture is good, and I like the thing in the foreground even though it might not be interesting, it adds to the picture and helps giving it depth.
